I am often trying to capture the incredible landscapes I see on my hikes. I feel lucky to witness this beauty daily. Here are a few landscapes that I really love.

Perin's Peak can be seen from most of downtown Durango. I found this view when I hiked up a ridge on Horse Gulch.
I saw this beautiful scene coming down the mountain one morning into town. The near-full moon was setting right near Twin Buttes. I took a photo and painted it later one night while my babies slept.
My favorite peak to my favorite hike - Engineer Mountain. I tried four times to paint this mountain, and this version was the only one that I felt captured it well enough.
This was a quick watercolor sketch I did from the meadow at the base of Engineer Mountain. The peaks surrounding are a deep red, making the greens of the trees and wildflowers even deeper.
I had a nice soak in the Durango Hot Springs here, and I took my paints! Soaking in the tubs while painting the view was extra relaxing. Hobby maxxing!
